During Peters 2009 Summer of Love signing tour, he spotted a small wicker basket at host My Doll Shops Florida store. He knew it would look great in a carving, so proprietor Lynn McEnany kindly gave him two. Upon Peters return to England, one was immediately devoured by his terrier Bart, but the other served as a model for Wicker & Whiskers. Four adorable (sigh) kittens were added, along with a dead mouse in the interior. Mount Dora, the location of Lynns shop, receives mention on the lid. Also inscribed on the lid is Borg, not in reference to the former #1 from Sweden but meaning boy or girl. Only Lynn from My Doll Shop may know the answer!
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
