The Greenman of ancient myth is still alive for Mel Heald. The Greenman is a very old archetype. Some cave paintings may even show an early form of the Greenman symbol. During the Middle Ages, Greenmen were often incorporated into the intricate carvings on churches. He is also regarded as the Earth Father, God of the Woods, Life Spirit, or Jack-in-the-Green and is often depicted as a male face surrounded by leaves. The acorns symbolize potential and life. Signed and numbered by the artist. Only 200 of this piece available in the UK.
Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us.
